Negril
Negril is located about 45 minutes from the airport. It boasts the best beach in Jamaica–Seven Mile Beach. A must stop is to have a drink and watch the sunset at Rick’s Café and marvel at the cliff divers.
Runaway Bay and Ocho Rios
The northern coast of Jamaica is known for its beaches, waterfalls and beautiful tropical gardens. The longer ride is well worth it as it is one hour to one and a half hours from the airport. Besides lounging on the beach, Ocho Rios offers many unique activities. Climbing Dunn’s River Falls is probably the most popular activity on the island. You can also take a raft trip on the White River or play a round of golf on one of the numerous golf courses.
Montego Bay
This is the largest of the tourist areas and boasts many resorts from standard to luxurious. With many golf courses, tennis facilities and shopping areas there is a lot more to do than just staying on the beach. Despite the distance from Dunn’s River Falls, many people still go there or take a relaxing raft trip.
With easy access from most cities it’s possible to take an early flight and have lunch on the beach the same day. There are many options for the water enthusiasts such as snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, parasailing, etc.
Jamaica is truly an island that offers something for everyone, whether it’s a family, honeymoon, destination wedding or just a couple who wants to get away.
